Public Safety & Emergency Response

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

Public Safety & Emergency Response

Our Police, Firefighters, and EMS professionals are Heroes and the backbone of public safety here in Dubuque—and they deserve leadership that stands with them. I’ll fight to protect their health, safety, pay and benefits. Supporting them means protecting every neighborhood in our city. I’ll work closely with their leadership to make sure they have the tools, training, and backup they need to keep Dubuque families safe.

My priorities include:

  • Police Department Staffing, Recruitment, and Hiring: Implement targeted recruitment initiatives to attract and retain qualified officers, ensuring the police department is adequately staffed to meet community needs.
  • Modernizing 911 Services and Emergency Response Tools: Upgrade emergency communication systems to improve response times and coordination among first responders.
  • West Side Fire Station. Fully Staffed Trucks.: I’ll advocate for a new fire station on the west side of town and push for staffing reforms that ensure a minimum of three trained personnel on every firetruck. No exceptions. These aren’t just investments in infrastructure—they’re commitments to faster response times, better outcomes, and lives saved. I’ll work directly with leadership at every level to ensure our first responders are backed by a mayor who listens, leads, and delivers.

Economic Development

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

Public Safety & Emergency Response

Dubuque should be a magnet for innovation and opportunity. I'll work side-by-side with the private sector to grow jobs, attract new investments, and support businesses of all sizes-from start-ups to legacy employers. We'll make sure the message is clear: Dubuque is open for business and open to bold ideas.

My priorities include:

  • Prioritize Infrastructure, Protect Our Future: Advance critical infrastructure like the Catfish Creek sanitary sewer improvements to support sustainable growth, protect our environment, and keep Dubuque moving forward. I’ll prioritize infrastructure that strengthens our foundation, supports future development, and delivers long-term value for our community.
  • A Future to Build, A City to Call Home: Create real opportunities for young people to build their future and raise a family in Dubuque—by supporting workforce development, expanding housing choices, and building a vibrant community they’re proud to call home.
  • Cut Red Tape, Build with Confidence: Promote ease of doing business by streamlining permitting and development processes, cutting red tape, and creating transparent, straightforward plans that build confidence and drive progress in housing, commercial, and private development.

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

Every dollar matters. I will lead with transparency, accessibility, and a deep respect for the people I serve. That means showing up, listening closely, and making decisions that reflect the real priorities of our communities. Public service should be about showing up, not just holding a title.

My priorities include:

  • Taxes:  Develop and implement long-term financial strategies to prepare for future economic challenges and opportunities, safeguarding the city's fiscal health. Transparency to show taxpayers exactly how funds are allocated and spent.
  • Upgrading Outdated Systems to Improve Service and Efficiency: Invest in modernizing city systems and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery to residents.
  • Street Repair and Maintenance as a Basic Service Priority: Prioritize the repair and maintenance of streets to ensure safe and reliable transportation infrastructure throughout the city.
